Streams

I've gotten to see many neat looking streams while travelling. Having been to 32 states also helps in this regard. Many would look nice in a photo but I just haven't taken the time to stop to take pictures. A few of my favorites were in Vermont, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and Tennessee in the Smoky Mountains.

There's just something peaceful about watching streams. Seeing the small rocks and such as the water washes over them. Winding their way through forests and fields.

These streams remind me a lot of the way we live our lives. We go through our daily routines and with luck, end our days with little fanfare. Other times we encounter that huge boulder that we must find a way to get around. Other times we lazily stroll through the woods and forests merrily on our ways. Sometimes, just like the streams, we must do what needs to be done in order to get through.

Strange what I think about while taking a shower isn't it? lol

Till next time BYE!!

And sometimes there are a lot of rocks (picture rapids) but then that smooths out, too.

When I take a shower I just wonder if I can bend over to wash my feet, lol)

water is very soothing. I've read that the sound of water can reduce stress. I believe it. Also taking photos of water can be so much fun. Here is one of my photos that I'm most proud of. Taken in La Jolla, CA

Thanks for sharing this. I love being by water too. It can be calm and slow or huge and rapid or even a drop of rain. Maybe since our bodies are mostly water we tend to gravitate towards it. Nice thoughts Mike.

I absolutely love walking the mountains in NE Scotland, especially for the rivers, & streams, the still lochs, the rushing streams. Hmm, nice mental image.

Showers are a good place to reflect in, although I've had my last 2 good ideas cycling & ironing! Something about disconnecting mind from body & just drifting...

Sorry, I'll stop waffling now ;-)

I like watching streams too. Have you ever watch thousands of Salmon in a small stream? We have here in Vancouver:-) It is amazing!

That's funny... I get those kinds of ideas while I'm in the tub. Guess I need to relax a bit before I can think, huh?

Come here to Central Penna - near Penn State Univ main campus - I'll take you and Barb to see some really pretty little mountain streams, including one that is red - from sulfur content from old mines of 100 years ago. They have a big canoe race there the last Saturday of March every year that draws in people from I think 13-15 different states now! Neat! (Also a train tunnel about 1/2 mile away from that stream too!)

Rivers are my thing. I love and miss the float trips. I always wanted a home by a river or a stream because the sounds are so calming. A front porch, a crick, and the whip o wills.
