Ipod Problem

It isn't the Ipod I'm having problems with specifically, it's my computer after I install the program that gets the tunes on the thing that I'm having problems with. You see, to get songs and such to your Ipod you have to install I tunes. When I do that it also installs Quicktime. When it does that, I can't view my little map thingie or the Christmas Tree that I installed on my blog. They come up with a little "Q" icon in it and won't show. Go figure.

I got the Ipod for Christmas and love it. But, there's that darn PC problem to contend with. I restored my PC to an earlier date to fix the problem of viewing my map, but I don't want to have to do that every time I put more music on the Ipod. Maybe this goes along with the problem I was having earlier with my PC. Who knows.

For now, I will just keep doing what I have been and let things lie. I might end up completely reloading my PC to it's original condition this week. If anyone else has had this problem with their Ipod, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know. Like I said, it might just be my PC and it's weird ways. Till next time BYE!!

I have the same thing going on here.
My Ipod gets here Friday so I'm gonna download the tunes I want and disable quicktime again.
It might be Firefox?
If you find a way to fix it let me know too.

lyn, it isn't Firefox because it does the same thing to me on IE7. I hate it when programs take over thing on my pc.

My brother was having problems with his Ipod too... I have no clue about them. I'm a little behind the times I guess... Good luck!

I've never even seen an ipod out of the box (yes, that's how backwards I am!)
I'm still thinking the best thing for your computer might be a sledgehammer.
:)
Good luck!

Okay, I have my iPod, live by the thing. But, I have no problems with iTunes. I think I had Quicktime already installed on my computer when I did this (I've had my iPod for about 2 years). My cousin just got one and I was helping him set his up on Christmas Eve...I'll have to call him to see if he is having any problems like that.

I was reading your blog while my ever so smart sweetie was reading it over my shoulder and saw your IPOD problem. It is the quicktime causing your problem. What you need to do is uninstall quicktime and find an older version of quicktime to use. This should solve your problem.

Now that your readers may have resolved your ipod problems, wish someone could explain how Kodak has the nerve to call their photo program "Easyshare." I've not found anything EASY about this damned thing yet! A friend of mine sent me a DVD disc, packed with photos, which of course, I couldn't view because I don't have a dvd thing on my computer. HOwever, my neighbor's son - computer whiz-kid- burned the dvd over to a cd for me and theoretically, I should be able now to view all these many - like 200-300 photos - with ease. Using, of course, easyshare! Life, or mine anyway, doesn't work that way! Once in a while today, I have been able to view a few of the pics but it is very slow, very time consuming. Just give me photos saved to a plain old jpeg file anyday that opens, quickly, without a black screen and two blue buttons at the bottom - one saying "add to collection" and the other saying "done" and I have no clue what the heck I am supposed to do with them! Sometimes, if I click the "add to collection" about 2 minutes later, it might open the photo involved - then again, it might not too. If I click 'done" - obviously, it closes the program! I've blogged about this previously in my rant about why I hate Kodak's EasyShare and I still have seen no reason to change my mind about this software! It sucks! But, on a positive note, hope the suggestions you got about your ipod work for you, then at least one of us will be happy and content!

Sounds like the troubles Sam had with his new iPod! He has somehow resolved them ... I have no idea how. He's over my head.

He loves his iPod. Even calls it his baby. Guess that makes me a grandma .... to an iPod?!

Quicktime creates problems with itunes. go figure since you have to have it to run itunes. I'm going to second what maggie said. If you google quicktime and itunes you will probably find a solution.

I also had problems when I first got itunes. if you uninstall itunes you also have to uninstall quicktime before trying to reinstall itunes or you will run into more problems.

good luck !!! I love my ipod !!!
